Special Memories of Chris

Christine
I just want to say that it is a privilege to be asked to do this for Christine.

In fact it was a privilege to do anything for Christine, she was someone who asked for nothing, yet deserved so much because she was so loved.

I know just how much she was loved, not just from
the overwhelming number of cards and messages of love and condolence from everyone that knows her
I know from the beautiful, heartfelt tribute from her friends and colleagues that reflects the impact that Christine had had on them and on the people who depended on her service
I know from listening to Chris talk about how happy she was with Paul and how she was looking forward to their future together
I know From watching her with kids Gemma , Michael and lovely Jack, and her little grandson Georgie and the love and tenderness that they all shared
And i know how much Chris was loved by her family, especially Barbara, John, Rachel and Paul
Every family loves their daughter, their mum, their sister, their aunt, but it’s a different kind of love, a fierce, unconditional love that this family has demonstrated for Christine, a love that was given every minute of every day, a love Christine felt every minute of every day.

I am very lucky to have some special memories of Christine. We were very close growing up and would spend all of our time together.
My unfading memory of Our Chris was ; tall, slim, that trade mark gorgeous thick red hair and freckles, and always laughin, probably at me !
She was the strongest and fastest in the street, which came in handy for us winning our games of salio or playing hide and seek in Vicky Park, ...everyone wanted to be in our Chris’ gang
We’d have sleepovers and midnight feasts
thought we were gorgeous pretending to be girls from ABBA singing into our hairbrushes, or belting out ‘Oh Carol’ at the top of our voices to Barbara’s old Neil Sedaka records
Or sneaking down and dancin in our nighties with rach, Wendy, Kate, eve, Lyndsey and Nicky at our family’s famous New Years Eve dos ! ...just for the record our Paul was there , he just didn’t wear a nighty !

These are some of my memories of Chris, memories of her full of life, full of fun and laughter , full of happiness and love.

You will have your own personal, treasured memories of Chris like this, these are the memories that ensure she will always live on in our hearts, these are the memories that perpetuate that legacy of love.

Rest In Peace Chris, Jo x
